Hi Janine,
Oh, light blue is quite a bit nicer than dark grey. Ant it’s not shallow to like the flat because of the mural - means you have good eye for atr :) Speaking of, I do take commissions – the prices start at $125/150 for a small piece about 10 inches and the usual piece that’s 18”x24” or 16”x20’ is anywhere from $250-$500.00, the largest I go is 24”x26” and that ranges at $1500-$2000+. However, some of my very special friends (especially those living in London’s Zone 1 …just kidding ^^) may receive a gift and not have to commission stuff. I can do an abstract Pollock-esque piece (but nicer!) for you which will take a bit less time or a more traditional piece that will take longer. Lmk what you would like to see.
So, on to “Master and Margarita” – some people hate the book, some love it, but it’s definitely worthwhile to make an attempt to read it. (Caveat: my view is a bit biased since I can read in Russian) So, there are 3 main story lines that start as separate pieces but come together as the novel develops: 1. The love story of Master & Margarita, 2. Moscow of the 1930’s that’s visited by Voland (aka the devil himself & a few of his assistants) and this is also the time when the first repressions began (some historical background knowledge of what was going on at that time in Russia is very handy), 3. The story of the last day of Christ – a very interesting and unusual point of view. This was a forbidden book in the USSR for quite some time and Bulgakov was lucky to die early, otherwise he would have surely been thrown to prison, or labor camp or some other equally pleasant place. Are you intrigued enough? You know what we should do – start reading it at the same time (I read it twice and am ready for 1 more) and compare notes.
BTW a real British accent is always better that a fake one, especially coming form you. (You visit EU but why, oh why have you forsaken the new world!) Plus, all my accents sound the same - really bad! :P
TTYS,
Mariya

Forbidden book = I want to read it! I want to read it! (but most probably won’t until sometime next year.
Ooh, an abstract piece sounds interesting (especially if it was nice and colourful), but I don’t think I can afford even the lower prices at the moment T_T (I just frittered away loads of money in Milan). Also, I don’t want to take up too much of your time.
But, let me reciprocate: if you ever want me to draw anything for you, please let me know (I need to get back into the flow of drawing at the moment). Of course, I can only offer meager black and white manga-style scribbles on A4 paper…
ps. How goes the job search?
