Hi Janie! Thank you for your earlier responses. I know what you mean about Tolstoy, I felt exactly the same that his characters were real rather “good guy” / “bad guy”. Instead of War and Peace how about something challenging but quite exciting - it’s one of my favourite books – Bulgakov’s “Master and Margarita”. Let me know if you want to read it and I can tell you more about it. Of course, Pasternak’s “Doctor Zhivago” is fantastic and heartbreaking. Just please ignore that HORRIBLE “classic” American movie – it’s dreadful!
Great pictures of the new place. Do you have a view? I really like the mural. I have an idea for one more that should go above your head near the bed – a trompe l’oleil alcove filled with leather bound books, half covered with a curtain and a candle sconce nearby, perhaps some cobwebs for that historical feeling. The coffee table is neat too be I’m fond of the mural. Are the walls grey or off white and seem grey in the pics? The price is not bad for zone 1, does that come to about $1,200/ month?
Have fun in Milan, you lucky you (I’m soo jealous of people living in Europe)!
I am thowing a combined B-day party for myself and Pasha this Saturday at his place, so expect pictures on my site shortly. I do wish I could invite you. (A party is always better if there’s a person speaking with a British accent present. ^^)
Oh, bwt, I’m not sure whether I understand English slang correctly but if there’s a concern about the “down-belows” you definitely should check on that with a doctor because it rather difficult to cure a problem there once it starts going.
On that cheery note I’ll bid you good night,
TTYS

Well, I’m reading Jonathan Strange and Mr Norrell at the moment (it’s very good btw), and then I’m going to read The Dice Man. After those two my ‘to read’ list is blank so I’m open to suggestions; please tell me more about Master and Magarita :D
Yeah, $1200 a month sounds about right, maybe a little less. My view is of a tree, some cars, and a house across the street, so it’s not very exciting. My walls are actually light blue (the photos were quite dark), and I think the mural is the actual reason why I liked this flat the most (how shallow of me). Speaking of art on my walls…would you be able to help me out, maybe? You mentioned before about taking comissions. Would it cost me tremendous amounts of money (I can understand that shipping would be expnsive too)?
Surely you could provide the British accent for your party? I had to put on an Irish accent, when I went to a murder mystery party recently; it was awful, and mostly consisted of “Top o’ the mornin’ to ya! To be sure to be sure. Diddly diddly diddly.”
The pains have gone now, so I think it was wind. I think. I hope I haven’t got a bladder infection, I’ve heard that they’re not nice at all. Also, I really need to register with a local doctor.
