The kinder eggs we had were so nice! They were called kinder merendo, I think, and had this kind of soft chocolate that you ate with a spoon, with two big crunchy ball things in the middle (that was one half of the egg, the other half was a toy). But I do love kinder surprise too, maybe my favourite thing when I was little :D
It’s illegal to sell absinthe in the US?? Actually, come to think of it, I don’t know if you can buy it here or not. We’ve had some sitting in our kitchen for ages, it was bought when we went to Prague. Not that I drink at all, but absinthe is fun to watch, especially if you do all the sugar and fire stuff (but don’t set the tablecloth alight, um..)
Hi! Yay for pictures! We want more …and I expect a full account of the trip in writing! ;) …do I hear the postman coming? I agree with you on the food. We mainly ate pasta and anything that has sugar in it. the kinder suprise thingy is soo expensive in NY…we just kept buying those, along with other sugary snacks including those that looked like dentures, toothpaste, toothbrushes, pink slugs, blue alligators etc. on a nearly daily piligrimage to the local candy shop. We planned to bring some of that stuff to share at home but because of….customs (yes, customs, that’s it!) …we had to consume all of it before leaving the country. I also had chocolate with Absinth in it! I wanted to bring a bottle of that stuff home since it’s illegal to sell it in the US but it is legal to own and consume. But it was just too heavy (and it cost 30 euros) My sister ate past 3 out of 4 night in the city. Still, the icecream was the best!!!
Oh, I absolutely agree with you about the Catholic church, if one has to sit/stand through mass wouldn’t one rather do that in a pretty cathedrl (and it will keep one occupied if she is bored) instaed of those plain little things.
