Sparkles and rainbows
Sooooo.....
My interview on Friday went ok. The lady interviewing me was from Rochester, NY and I think I made a reasonable impression because I'd actually heard of where she came from ^_^
I also had another interview today, for a different job. And I was offered the job on the train home! Woooooooo! But I haven't taken it just yet because I'm still waiting for the result of the first interview (I have until tomorrow).
I am so glad that I won't have to fill in another application form again (they take so much time!)
I went to visit James in London at the weekend. He lives in a part of London that I'd never been to before; it feels just like a village has a large turkish community so I ended up eating lots of turkish food, which was nice APART FROM the vine leaves which turned out to be the most disgusting thing I've ever eaten ever.
We visited Spittlefields and Leadenhall (sp?) markets - both closed.
We went to a tiny club that just had one room - and an upstairs that we never realised was there.
We nearly lost each other in Selfriges - but didn't.
Somebody dumped chow mein on a pot plant - naming no names.
We saw Charles Kennedy stumbling down the road D:
We also saw Snakes on a Plane! :D
Nick: You only want to see it so you can write about it on your blog.
Me: ........................................................ >_>
And writing about it I am. It was awesome. Much better than I was ever hoping for. I had imagined it to be either, awful and therefore funny, or a good thriller and therefore thrilling. In both cases I had asumed it would be a serious film. I was so wrong. In hindsight I realise that I should have known from the cheesy ad campaign; the film was not serious at all and very very tongue-in-cheek. It was done well; it was played very straight, rather than as a comedy, and was therefore very funny. It had everything a bad plane-thriller should have (I won't go into detail though, because I don't want to spoil it for anyone). Conclusion: this film was a lot of fun, maybe I should buy the DVD, or a T-shirt (yes!).
(James, if you're reading, look away now) I had a weird dream last night for the first time in a while - probably due to nerves. I dreamt that I was by the monument in London (which I actually saw yesterday), but it had turned into a large fairground ride in the shape of a big gold cross. Watanuki was there and nearly fell off, but then Doumeki came and saved him. Later we (Watanuki, Doumeki and I) were in a room with someone (Chunyang?) who was some kind of voodoo master. Tomoyo was there and was being all quiet and shy because someone she liked was there (but I have no idea who it could be, because it definately wasn't Sakura) and then Himawari came along and started being all chatty and annoying and gave everyone cakes.
- mostly this means that I am eager for the next xxxHolic chapter (it better not make me cry) and that I really want to go on some big Jesus fair-ground ride, or something.
