Right, I'll talk about my trip to Luxembourg later. I have to go straight to bed now because my lectures start again tomorrow.
Whew, I've been a bit busy over the past few days. I had my last exam on Friday, I'm quite relieved that they're all over now. We all went for a terrible night out to celebrate (that's the way to do it).
I have this week off and it's fantastic. I went home for the weekend and just got back today, and tomorrow I'm flying off to Luxembourg! Linda has an interview for a job there and Nick, Steve and I are all tagging along for the fun of it (who doesn't want to visit a place with a bridge named Adolf?). Hmmm...I should be packing.
So at home yesterday, besides starting a five-day course of antibiotics for an infected finger, I went to visit one of the oldest coaching inns in the country, or something like that.

Whatever people say I am, that's what I'm not.

:D
Finally! If you haven't heard any songs by the Arctic Monkeys yet, I strongly suggest you do. Without a doubt the most exciting thing on the British music scene right now.
I also listened to the new Fay song. It's not as funny and OOC as the Kurogane song -3-
I downloaded the wallpaper though, even if it is really scary...that grin could burn down a house!
Oh, and my exam was OK yesterday, thanks.
OK. I have my first exam tomorrow! *panic panic* I hope I've done enough reading for it...I've never done a fourth year exam before (although that's not really surprising). The lecturers like to tell us that it's a masters level course so we have to be all 'show a throrough understanding of the topic' and 'critically evaluate the data' and all that. *fret fret*
Then again. Only half of my modules have exams (that makes 2). And tomorrow's exam only counts for 70% of the module, because I've already done the coursework (and I like to think that went quite well).
*becomes comaplacent* That's better.
The annoying thing is that, due to my exam tomorrow, today I've given myself a self-imposed ban on leaving the house. This means that I can't go and buy the Arctic Monkeys album, even though it came out today. I've been waiting for it for nigh on half a year now! *woe*
You know, I had a dream last night, and in that dream I was back at school. It was awful! Mostly because I'd forgotten how school worked and had subsequently forgotten my PE kit...
I woke up and was very relieved to find out that I don't have to go back to school. Even if I do have an exam tomorrow, at least I don't have to do PE, ahh.
I watched 3 different shows today, what happened to my revision?
Firstly, there was Ayakashi, the new show in the Paradise Kiss time slot. I think it's too early to tell what it's going to be like. It's supposed to be horror, I hope it turns out to be scary rather than just a tragic story hmmm...
Secondly I watched Honey and Clover episode L. Ahh, I'd missed watching this. This episode was so funny! I wish I had a housemate who brought me a selection of assorted meats, that would be awesome. I'd love to watch some more Honey and Clover to find out what happens to everyone, am I right in thinking that there's going to be a movie? Please please please please please. The good thing about this show is that all the characters are likeable, I have a hard time deciding who I like most. I'm still undecided! (psst, it may be Morita).
Finally I watched Paradise Kiss episode 12. Sadly I haven't found this show to be that interesting. Mostly this is because, unlike Honey and Clover, I find it hard to like any of the characters (apart from Isabella after she got more screentime a few episodes ago).
But! This episode, being the final one of the series, was the best one I've watched so far! Read on for spoilers...
I have been really bad at revising lately. As in, really bad. Today, however, I shall 'buck my ideas right up' oh yes.
Ok, so I haven't actually started yet today, but I will, once I've decided what food I need to buy.
One thing I shan't be buying is another T-shirt; it's winter and I'm not wasting my monies. But oh, this one is awesome.
Other people I'd like to see on a T-shirt:
Alfred Lord Tennyson
Samuel Pepys
Archduke Franz Ferdinand
Rasputin - as a pirate! Arr!
...actually, the list could go on and on, so I'll stop here.
Somedays I have the sense of humour of a 12 year old. Today is one of those days.
No, the amalgam of the minor celebrity dancing contest-TV programmes: 'Strictly Come Dancing' and 'Dancing on Ice', is not funny.
It is especially not funny if you replace the dancing with bumming dogs. Bumming dogs is cruel and wrong, it is not funny...not even if it is on ice...or even if they have a house band singing James Blunt's 'You're Beautifuuuuul!'
But seriously, the idea of:
Strictly Come Dog Bumming - On Ice
Keeps making me laugh like a loser XXDDD
'You're Beautiful!'
Filth, just filth.
For some reason, I imagine David Seaman doing quite well, maybe it's the moustache.
Shut up.
I handed in two of my essays today. I allowed myself a day off from studying today, so I can have a good rest before I start with the revision tomorrow. This means that I had loads of time for drawing!
I drew a new page of Clematis.
Psst. It's a secret, but I've been waiting to draw this page for ages. I had a lot of fun drawing it too. Woo! Sometimes its hard to remember, but this is the reason why I like to draw. It really makes me happy :B
I was playing with my camera again today :D
I was going to post loads of photos, but I'm holding back so it won't be too boring.
I went food shopping today. I always find food from other countries fascinating to look at, the food, the packaging, everything. You may find this interesting if you don't live in the UK.

I also find it fascinating to look at other peoples lived in spaces, especially desks.

My desk is perhaps slightly more messy than normal due to coursework stress.
I'm going to Rome!!!
It's atrocious, I haven't been on holiday yet this year! And we're over a week in too!
So to remedy this awful situation I booked some flights. Theresa and I are going to go visit Deborah, who's currently living in Rome, during the Easter weekend.
It's going to be good. I can't wait to try some proper Italian ice-cream ^__^
It's quite funny really because I dreamt that I went to visit Deborah, only this time she was living in London. Anyway, she had this little monkey that had been trained to copy out letters and things; it could write with a pen and everything. It was amazing! A super monkey indeed. But I couldn't work out why Deborah had bothered with this monkey when she could just use a photocopier instead.
Today I have done nothing much bar listening to:
Ping Island / Lightening Strike Rescue Op - from the Life Aquatic soundtrack
I really want to see the film again, I don't think I got everything out of it when I watched it the first time. I also really want to have a composer to follow me around all day with a keyboard so he can play my theme tune when I do something exciting, like making a sandwich.
Oh and I finished my essay, albeit badly. Two down, one more to go! Friday is the due date! Anything could happen! *plays keyboard*
I'm really disliking writing my proteomics essay. Firstly, I don't know what to say to answer the question. Secondly, proteomics has never interested my in the slightest. Rargh! I have to finish it by the end of today too! I hate setting deadlines for myself, why do I do it?
Not much has been happening recently. My schedule is this:
10am - Wake up
11am - Jaff on the internet
12noon - Lunch
1pm - Jaff on the internet
5pm - Write some essay
6pm - Dinner
9pm - Write some essay
10:30pm - Watch TV
1pm - Bed
I do so little work! I'm clearly not doing any now! It's infuriating!
I seriously don't know what to do with myself sometimes *hits head against wall*
What makes life good at the moment:
- I had roasted parsnips with my dinner
- Watched My Name is Earl yesterday. It's funny, especially the cat-shaving part.
- ...I'm sure there was something else to add to this list...
Hey Mariya, I got your letter today! I may have to leave off the reply until after my exams though...
There's a new page of Clematis up.
I've done no work yet today! *silent scream*
Well, I'm back in Bath now. There's nothing between me and the looming threat of exams. But that's by the by, it's nice to be back, almost everyone's here now (including James who doesn't even live here yet!)
Yesterday Steve encouraged me to change my wallpaper (I'd had my old one for ages). I used one of my newish photos that I took. I was quite pleased with the result so I'm sharing it, feel free to take it if you want.

1024 x 768
I borrowed plenty of musics from Steve yesterday, they include:
Some songs by the Arctic Monkeys because they are awesome.
Mint Royale because I've really fancied listening to them recently.
And Jose Gonzalez, which is really really pretty.
Well. That was the most exciting New Year's I've ever experienced. Yes, even more exciting than London last year.
I was at Natalie's house with a few other people from school. It was fairly quiet, I hadn't seen any of them for at least two years so we had plenty of catching up to do. Natalie's older sister and her boyfriend had gone out earlier to some bar in town. At 11:30 or so they came back. They think Natalie's sister's drink was spiked. She was completely out of it, and very scared and hysterical. Natalie's parents had to come back and an ambulance was called. The paramedics said that it was just alcohol, but the others weren't so sure, apparently she was very out of character. Anyway, we were all feeling a bit awkward so we left early (we stayed until midnight though, just after the paramedics left, it was a very brief celebration).
It's worrying how common it is for people to have their drinks spiked nowadays, it's really scary when you think about it. I really hope that no-one else I know will ever be a victim of it.
Hearing Natalie's sister, it reminded me of my coffee incident in the summer. As my incident was caffeine overdose rather than alcohol/spiking it probably felt quite different. But I could definately relate to how scared Natalie's sister seemed. I hope she's ok, she should be, it'll just take a bit of sleeping it off I think. And it's so lucky that her boyfriend was watching out for her, otherwise who knows what would have happened?
In much more boring news; I bought a new top today, it's a kind of victorian-style lacey blouse (I haven't bought any clothes for going out in ages) :D
I also got some hairclips because my fringe is starting to get annoying long and I won't want it getting in my eyes during the exams. New hair accessories = exam success!
